The Sidings

The majority of rooms in the Siding are a standard size with a small double bed (about 13 square metres including the en-suite) but there are a small number of medium (approximately 14.8 square metres including en-suite) and large rooms (around 19 square metres including en-suite) which are priced slightly higher. There are also six self-contained studios with an en-suite and kitchenette.  

The Sidings is managed by CRM Students, a market leader in the management of student accommodation across the country. They work closely with the Accommodation and Halls teams at Penryn Campus to ensure a good quality provision of accommodation and full support to all their residents. Their on-site management team are responsible for letting administration, security, maintenance, cleaning, health and safety compliance and IT services. For more information see the CRM website. 

The Sidings has external bike and surfboard storage, plus laundry facilities operated via an app.  

Please note when applying for The Sidings you will only be able to apply for a standard room type, if you are interested in the other room types, please add this to the notes section of your application via Room Service.  

Room types that are not standard are limited and we prioritise these for students with medical requirements. Please contact the accommodation team for more information.

Rent includes utility bills and wifi speeds of up to 250mbps on wireless up to 1 gbps via a wired connection.  

Some of our offsite locations may have a fair usage policy, this means that your accommodation agreement with bills included may only be ‘all inclusive’ up to the point where you exceed the fair usage policy. This may be capped by units of energy used or the proportion of rent allocated for bills. Please see your contract for details. 

Halls’ facilities 

Access to external bike and surfboard storage, plus laundry facilities operated via an app.  

Halls are accessed via secure entry systems and the onsite office is open during office hours Monday-Friday with out of hours support. There is CCTV and a 24hr telephone helpdesk is provided all year round to support maintenance and security reports. 

The are a small number of accessible rooms at The Sidings that are larger to allow for equipment if needed and for the bed to be accessed on both sides. The ensuite is a wet room with grab rails beside the toilet and an emergency alarm. 

Deafgard is also available to anyone hard of hearing. The Deafgard has a vibration pad and flashing light which can be placed under a pill and wakes people on the sound of the fire alarm. 

If you are living with a disability or health condition that requires consideration or adjustments with regards to staying in our accommodation, please complete the ‘Accessibility Questionnaire’ at the end of the application on Room Service (the accommodation application portal).   

You will be asked to provide medical evidence to the Accessibility Team to support your condition and request. The Accessibility Team will then review your case to ensure you have the right support in place and liaise with the Accommodation Team regarding any accommodation needs, they have approved.

Whilst we endeavour to make reasonable adjustments to support individuals who, due to a disability, a long-term medical condition or sensory or physical impairment require adapted accommodation. We are unable to guarantee we can offer suitable accommodation as this is subject to availability. 

There is no parking available at any of our residences (except for Blue Badge holders) and students are strongly discouraged from bringing a car to University unless it is essential.
