Learning Development Team

The Learning Development team helps bring curricular ideas to life. We collaborate closely with Learning Design, professional service teams and educators, through the development of interactive online and blended courses and immersive multimedia experiences. The team provides technical support and guidance for a range of digital tools used for teaching and learning such as Mentimeter, Padlet, Mural, Recap. We provide end-to-end media production services and manage the day-to-day operations of our educational technology platforms, including ELE and Learn.Exeter. We support educators by offering training and nurturing our educational technology ecosystem to meet pedagogical need, enhancing the learning and student experience across the University.

Learning Development is split into the following four distinct services

The Immersive Studio are a dynamic and innovative group dedicated to transforming teaching and learning through immersive multimedia experiences. The team specialises in professional video creation, from studio and location filming, to bespoke animation - helping to create visually interesting and engaging content for the University’s learners.

As well as video content, the team also works on a whole range of other immersive technologies including 3D scanning/modelling, 360 videos/environments and interactive online activities. By integrating these technologies into the curriculum, the team aims to enhance student engagement, facilitate deep learning, and prepare students for future challenges in an increasingly digital world.

In Partnership with Learning Design we develop world class distance and blended learning courses including for the Centre of Online, Centre for Degree Partnerships, Learn.Exeter and all taught courses.

Our Ed-Tech team manage the day to day operations, development and support for our Ed-Tech platforms and tools that form the digital learning ecosystem at the University of Exeter. Digital Tools that the team supports include; Moodle (ELE), Recap, Class Teams, Mural, Mentimeter, Padlet Backpack, Xerte.

Our team provides expert advice and guidance to educators in their teaching by supporting their use of Ed-Tech tools to improve learning experiences.
